Money! Do You Wish You Had More of it?

Money, love it or hate it, most people can benefit from having more of it in their lives.

Whether to improve their own situation or to help to improve the lives of others, money is one of those commodities, that when you have it, you can make those sorts of decisions, more freely.

By studying people who have become wealthy, what we have found is that they have learned to think about money quite differently from those who don’t have enough.

Robert Kiosaki, one of the worlds leading authorities on how to move from very real poverty, to create true and sustainable wealth as he did, would ask; “if money could talk, what would it say to you?”

“Hello, or, good-bye!”

He believes, as we believe, that the creation of wealth starts with how you think.
Yes you need to learn about Cash Flow and Profit & Loss, and yes you need to learn about Return on Investment and Tax and legal’s and or your chosen profession or field of expertise.

And yes some of that maybe daunting or boring.
But largely coming to grips with those things are a by product of being truly mentally, and emotionally involved in the creation of your goal.

What Gets in the Way

What is it that stops you from becoming as wealthy as you want to be?

Our research proves that becoming wealthy has less to do with how much you earn and more to do with other intangibles than almost anything else.

People who become wealthy do some things that are so blindingly simple that they go completely un-noticed by the casual observer.
And they do other things, that only by getting very very close, can you ever hope to discover.

Tell me, have you ever started the week with say $20 in your pocket?
And at the end of the week, when you check your pockets, you’ve got say $1.50 left, and you’re completely baffled as to where the rest went?

Does that also happen to your pay check or within your business?

Or do you know of anyone who has had the experience where some extra money has come in, and you think, great, I can save that, and then some un-expected bill arrives, or something else happens that completely sucks up all of that spare cash?

The truth is, that there are some very tangible reasons just below the horizon of your consciousness, that will continue to ambush your every effort, if left unchanged.

Vows of Poverty

Research shows, that all physical tangible wealth, first started as a thought.

And that thought grew in clarity & feeling until it became reality.

Research also shows that all physical tangible poverty started in exactly the same way.

What this means is that, as human beings, we have the innate inborn ability to create what we want.

We only need understand how to “turn on” this ability….

Why am I So Tired?

Even before these recessionary times, many of the people that I’ve meet have complained that they feel bone tried.

They’ll say things like “Why am I so tired?” “Even if I get to bed early, I still wake up feeling tired.”
Then they try to figure out some of the possible answers, like;
“Maybe I shouldn’t drink so much coffee” or “Maybe I need a new pillow or bed.” Or they theorize about some other reason.

Of course these suggestions could be apart of the solution. However commonly, in their heart they know that there has to be more to it than that.
If I ask a few questions about how that person is feeling about life generally, their answers often lead me to a deeper conclusion about the cause of their stress and unrest.

They say things like. “I just feel so frustrated” , “Something’s missing in my life”, “Why can’t I get what I want?”
Especially at the moment, right across the globe, as positive as they may try to be, many people are also experiencing very real fears about their futures.

And when I ask them to talk about it they tell me things like;
“I just can’t seem to get ahead”.
“My life’s not going anywhere”. And
“I don’t know if I’m going to have a job next week”
Some people say, “I don’t know what I want any more.
Or worse, that at their age (between 35 & 55) they’ve had enough of having to work hard everyday.
They’re looking for the pay off that they imagined they would some how have by this age.
The pay off that would make life easier.

Feeling Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place

These thoughts and feelings can often represent what I call “Stuck Points.”

That Stuck Point isn’t necessarily a physical thing or a tangible barrier, it’s something else. It’s an imaginary line, a mental obstacle such as an unfulfilled value or goal or a limiting belief or a dissatisfying personal rule!
Which together are all maintaining their current feelings and their current way of life.
Which often, looks a lot like becoming stuck in a rut.

The problem with ruts is that they kill hope and they make us feel tired.

Ruts are commonly surrounded by thoughts about what’s right or wrong, good or bad, what’s possible or impossible.
Beliefs about what they think they are capable or incapable of or even deserve.

Those thoughts, maintain their “Status Quo,” “their current way of being.” Their current health, happiness & financial situation and this imprisons their thinking.

Ruts handicap their attitudes and drain them of their energy, which overtime erodes their health, vitality and their outlook on life.

For many people it paralyses them into doing nothing or even sabotaging the progress they may have already made.

By the way, not all Status Quo are un-useful, only the one’s that stop a person from being who they really want to be. Or that hold them back from living the life they really truly want.

Frustrated & Unhappy

People ask me, “So how does that happen & how does that become my life.” “I don’t want to be Stuck.”

The answer is, your life doesn’t have to be that way. Regardless of the global economy. Regardless of the weather. Regardless of your personal situation. You can still choose the way you feel, you can choose what you focus on, and you can choose what you do.

And often it is easier to change than what you may think - when you know how.

That’s why I call it a “Stuck Point” in time, not a “Stuck for all time.”

Are You Getting to That Happy Place?

Figuring out what’s really important to us in our lives, and then trying to get it, is what the vast majority of us spend most of our lives trying to achieve.
When you add the further challenge of trying to keep all of our life roles and responsibilities balanced, then for many people, at some level, that sense of satisfaction or personal fulfillment is just not there.

If we are lucky enough to experience that, then there’s often that underlying discomfort that comes from wondering if we can actually keep it all together.

What many people tell me, is that there are just TOO many ongoing pressures in modern life;
family, careers, education for our kids, wanting to live in a nice house in a safe community, travel, financial security, job security, personal freedoms, enjoying your retirement, your health, wanting loving relationships, and maybe wanting to be the best at something. All that means that many people feel crushed, under the weight of those needs.

And that’s the very reason why being clear about our values and goals, the things that really drive us, is at the heart of achieving our very own personal success and happiness.

That’s when many people turn to goal setting as an avenue that may hopefully, save them from their rut. But that doesn’t always pan out.
Instead it just leaves many feeling even more disillusioned than they were before.

Fighting with yourself won’t get you what you want.
One of the reasons why traditional goal setting doesn’t work is because people fight with themselves.

Now that might sound funny but when you think about it, people argue with themselves all of the time.

In the privacy of their own mind, they argue and debate what’s fair or unfair, what’s good or bad, what’s right or wrong, what they should or should not do and so on.
Often but not always, there are parts of themselves that are polarized between this or that. One goal competing with another. Or one belief working at cross purposes with another belief. Or the expectations of other people, maybe in conflict with your own.

Let me give you a few examples;

A husband may work hard long and late because it’s important to him that his wife and kids live in a nice house. And even though his family know that, they still feel an emptiness, because he’s not there.

A mother go’s to work because she has to, or because she wants a career, but then feels guilty because she believes that she doesn’t invest enough time with her kids.

Or, say someone wants to start a new business; one part of them wants to just go do it, while another part of them is to afraid to, in case it doesn’t work out.

Or one part of them wants to give up smoking while another part craves for the buzz that smoking gives them.

Or one part of them wants to loss weight while another part still needs the comfort they feel, from eating constantly.

So they are stuck; one part of them wants to have a go, while another part is afraid to, because of the perceived consequences, of either failing or succeeding.

So when it comes to goal setting. Traditional goal setting doesn’t always work because it doesn’t necessarily address those associated emotional conflicts that we experience as real things, when we think about what we want.

Life’s Big Secret

The Big Secret of how to move from frustration or paralysis to freedom and happiness.
And how to keep it all balanced in a sustainable way is actually much easier than most people think. In fact the answer to the big secret is largely, already within their reach. They just don’t know that.

About the Core-Resourcing logo

We chose the branding we did for two reasons primarily….

The koru - (the plant visible on the left of our logo) is in New Zealand representative of new life, new beginnings and growth. It also represents strength and peace. It is the unfurling new growth from our national symbol - the silver fern.

When we consider what the fundamental premise of Core-Resourcing is all about, helping people to grow and to prosper - we thought this symbol very fitting.

The globe with the concentric circles emanating from a central core is taken from one of our models that illustrates how all that we do and indeed “are” emanates from our own very “core” - who we are at the centre, describes what you attract on the outside.

And obviously New Zealand takes pride of place on the face of that particular globe as we will always glad to be proudly called “a kiwi company”

Regards

Darren
