Choose the Mind Set That Frees You
Have you ever thought about why you do what you do?
Have you ever wanted to do something or to try something new? But you just couldn’t bring yourself to do it? Like maybe public speaking or joining a new club or even just asking for what you need from someone else.
Have you ever caught yourself turning down an opportunity saying “Oh I could never do that!” or “That doesn’t interest me!” or saying “that won’t work!” to some new suggestion without even stopping to really think about if it will or not?
Or inversely, have you ever caught yourself doing something that you promised yourself you would never do or promised yourself that you would stop doing? Like smoking or eating junk food or saying “yes” when you should have said “no” to someone else’s demands and expectations.
In fact what I’ve noticed is we often say NO when we should say YES and YES when we should say NO.
I’m sure that as you are reading, you may come up with a dozen examples like that, that apply in your life or in the life of someone you know.
The reality is that we all operate (to a greater or lesser degree) on auto pilot.
Sometimes that auto piloted behavior will serve us well and sometimes it won’t. The Acid Test is; are we being who we want to be? And are we living the life we deserve to live?
Often the answer is a resounding “NO!” But the perceived consequences of change appear to have more of a hold over us than the promised freedoms that making the change would provide.
Tony Robbins would give us a little shake and say “Change is Automatic, over time your body will change your relationships will change the world will change; change is automatic. Progress is optional”
So with your options in front of you; on the one hand to stay “chained” to the status quos that keep you bound to a life you don’t want & don’t enjoy or on the other hand, to take a deep breath and break though to the life you are supposed to have, that is always only moments away.
You can do it. We have faith in you.

so true David, is it those “perceived consequences” that we let drive us? is it also easier for us to let “us” down rather than others because of those perceived consequences? I would guess yes! As Tony says, change is imminent - progress is optional, just fantastic! Keep them coming David and thanks!
